Energy and Passion
Vassalli Bakering supports the Pallacanestro Vigarano 2008 (basketball) amateur sports association, the main society of an important movement created in Vigarano Mainarda in 2005, which has developed and transformed now comprising the Vigarano Basket amateur sports group association, the minibasket groups connected with it (united in the Mirabello-Vigarano basketball school), in view of common development of a project, which aims to increase the strength and investments in the youth sector.
In just a few years Vigarano has become an important name in the world of female basketball. The planning and solidity of the projects, with the decisive help of the Vigarano Mainarda municipal administration, have given life to continuous improvements, both in the youth groups and the results of the senior team. From this perspective the Vassalli base has become the elegant and functional PalaVigarano, able to host the numerous spectators, now regularly in the region of 400 and 500 people.
The female senior team won first place in the 2005/06 championship, and was promoted to the B2 division; in 2006/07 they won the first B2 division championship; in 2007/08 they won third place in the B2 division regional championship; in 2008/09, they took part in the B1 division national championship, coming first at the end of the first stage and third in the national finals of the Italian Cup; in 2009/2010, after being promoted to A2, they also won the Italian Cup.
The youth activity, in just 5 years, has seen the number of members and participants in the various basketball training courses undergo an exponential increase. This choice is primarily based on a social aspect in Vassalli Bakering's willingness to step forward as a point of reference, alongside the families, to develop the values of young people according to healthy sports principles.
A project of this kind comprises many components, with complementary and diverse characteristics. The energy and passion that unite us lead to ambitions and enthusiasm guides the desire to improve and amaze.
